The Health Minister inaugurated Bhagat Phool Singh Women Medical College

The Health Minister, Haryana, Rao Narender Singh today inaugurated 100 bedded hospital of Bhagat Phool Singh Women Medical College, Khanpur Kalan.
Addressing the gathering on this occasion, Rao Narender Singh said that the medical college would start functioning formally from the next academic session. The hospital would be expanded upto 300 bedded by the end of November month.
He said that the state government was working in a planned manner for the expansion of the health network in the state so as to provide accessible, affordable and quality health care to the people. Under the health policy of the state government, the Chief Minister Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced to set up a women medical college at Bhagat Phool Singh Women University, Khanpur Kalan on the occasion of birth anniversary of Bhagat Phool Singh on February 15,2008 and foundation stone of this medical college was laid by the UPA Chairperson Mrs Sonia Gandhi on March 1,2009.
The college would be set up at a cost of about Rs 300 crore and in terms of medical facilities, it would rank second in India. It would be third women medical college in the country, he added.
The Minister said that the state government had earmarked a sum of Rs 478 crore for the health services during the current financial year. The PGIMS Rohtak had been upgraded to the level of health university to take the medical education to new heights. Medical colleges were also being set up at Karnal and Mewat.
Presently, 35 medical experts, 20 nurses and 15 paramedical personnel are working in the hospital. Today, over 150 outdoor patients were checked up and 69 years old Ramwati Devi of Palwal was operated upon to change her right hip.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr Jitender Singh Malik, MP Sonepat expressed his gratitude to the national building construction corporation for completing the construction of the building of this medical college within prescribed timeframe.
Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr Jaiveer Singh, MLAs Mr Jagbir Singh Malik and Mr Srikrishan Hooda also addressed the people on this occasion.
